Tango Dance Classes

in Totnes & Buckfastleigh

Summer 2026

FREE Taster classes in Totnes (April 21st) and Buckfastleigh (April 23rd)!

(We also always run a FREE beginners Taster class at 12.30pm  in the Ashburton Arts Centre, on the last Sunday of every month)

*Beginners (Totnes & Buckfastleigh)
"An Introduction to the Joys of Tango Argentino"

The Cost: £10 for a drop-in, or £70 for 8 classes. While recognising that it is not always easy to commit to a run of 8 classes, it is recommended to do so, particularly at Beginners level, rather than dropping in and out.

Who can come?
Any adult is welcome! It is not necessary to come with a partner, but if you want to come with a fixed partner to work with, that's fine too.
Anyone who already dances one role and would like to learn the other role from scratch is especially welcome.

Please book in advance, using the links above, or turn up on the door with cash, if need be.

PRIVATE LESSONS

PRIVATE LESSONS

by appointment, please get in touch

For some people, learning in a group is not the best option. Maybe you want to maximise the time you spend learning, or you are shy, or you want to go over something in detail, or you want to give a special gift to a friend.
Having danced both roles for more than 25 years, Ruth is equally happy to lead (to dance the role of 'the man') or to follow (to dance the role of 'the woman') in her private lessons. Knowing both roles equally well gives her a complete picture of the dance, and she can bring this understanding to your learning process.
  * A private lesson gives you input in a concentrated form. One hour of private tuition is usually the equivalent of three hours of group classes.
  * You can arrange lessons at times and intervals that suit you.

Contact Ruth to arrange a date and time for your lesson.
